WMTC Profile

…a resident company of the
historic Woodstock Opera House
The Woodstock Musical Theatre Company,
founded in 1974, is a not-for-profit corporation established to provide
local talent the opportunity to offer artistic theatrical productions
for the viewing pleasure of area residents and to promote community
theatre as an art form. A resident company of the beautiful
Woodstock Opera House, a national historic landmark, WMTC is run by an
eleven member Board of Directors and annually produces three
productions, including our original adaptation of the Dickens' holiday
classic "A Christmas Carol”.
In addition to this annual production, the 2007-08 season includes the
Ken Ludwig Comedy Lend Me A Tenor and the up-roarious musical
A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.
Membership in the
company is a matter of participation. Individuals who participate in a
production are considered members with no membership dues or fees.
Opportunities for involvement are available in all facets of production
including stage crew, light and sound technicians, make-up artists, set
construction workers, costumers, ushers, orchestra, actors, and many
more. Each production requires the efforts of approximately 200 people
putting in over 8,000 man-hours to present the finished product.
