Moon Over Buffalo
 |
|
This backstage farce by the author of
“Lend Me a Tenor” brought Carol Burnett back to Broadway and
also starred Philip Bosco as her megalomaniac, often drunk husband
and leading man. An acting couple on tour in Buffalo with a
repertory consisting of “Cyrano de Bergerac” (revised one
nostril version) and “Private Lives” have been given one more
shot at starring roles in “The Scarlet Pimpernel” with epic
director Frank Capra en route to catch their matinee performance.
Will Charlotte go on or run off with their agent? Will
George be sober enough to emote? Will Capra see “Cyrano”,
“Private Lives” or a disturbing combination of the two?
