 Get your dancing shoes out, the smash Broadway hit Footloose is coming to the Woodstock Opera House!

One of the most extraordinary musicals ever to come out of Hollywood. Footloose blends fantastical situations with important issues and balances them perfectly.  This is a show you want to dance to! The score is the best kind of blast from the past!"

Footloose, which runs from October 1 – 23, was created from the blockbuster movie of the same name. The show features great hit music like "Let's Hear It For The Boy," "Holding Out For A Hero," and of course, "Footloose."

The story of a teenage boy, Ren, who comes to a small town and wants to dance, Footloose shows the excitement of dance as it comes alive for an entire community. In his efforts to create a school dance, Ren comes into conflict with the town's religious and civil authorities. When the minister's daughter begins to fall for the dancing newcomer, conflict erupts. But in the end, the joy of dance brings a small town back together again.

Woodstock Musical Theatre Company's version features many of the best local area talent, including Amanda Jensen in one of the title roles of Ariel. Aaron DeCamp takes on the role of Ren. In dual casting, John McCall and Michael Scharfer portray the heart-wrenching role of Reverend Shaw.  The full ensemble cast includes: Kyle Adams, Dan Birmingham, Mandy Boyd, Michael Buonincontro, Lisa Czarny-Hyrkas, Beth Davis-Johnson, Summer Hallenstein, Julie Hermann, Sarah Humphreys, Alan Koeppen, Bridget Kuehnert, Hannah McCall, Lauren Magnetta, April Martinez, Mike Palmenderi, Jillian Palmer, Charles Rutherford, Kim Scharlow, Billy Seger, Betsy Stemple, Jim Stemple, Carrie Souchek, Lori Taylor, Kyle Theil, Char Ulanowski and Kevin White

Returning Veterans of the Opera House, Artistic Director / Choreographer Dr. Brian Sager and Musical Director Virginia Zymonas, are guiding this talented cast though long rehearsals and a strenuous production. Co-Choreographer Dan Birmingham adds to the dancing extravaganza, while Producer Sharon McFarlin and Stage Manager Trish Gonzales are keeping this fast paced show running full-steam behind the scenes.

Footloose runs at the Woodstock Opera House on October 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, and 23.  Showtimes are 8:00 pm Fridays and Saturdays, 6:00 pm Sundays, and 2:00 pm matinee performances Saturday October 9, 16 and 23.  Tickets are $17 – 21, depending on showtimes and seating choices.  They may be purchased in advance from the Woodstock Opera House Box Office, 815-338-5300, Monday thru Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.  For more information on the cast and photos, please visit our website: www.WoodstockTheatre.com
